Specialty - Advertisement and Branding

Advertising is everywhere and on virtually every surface it is the biggest mass communication producer. Branding and advertising is like storytelling. it is a high pressure profession and its practitioners must creatively serve the clients whims and needs. A typical advertising design portfolio is not much different than a general graphic design portfolio. The portfolio is broken down into different levels: entry level and art director level. Entry level should consist of school projects, including ad campaign for real or imagined products useful for showing insight to advertising methods. Art director portfolio shows examples that exhibit experience with a firm or agency. Something that i also found interesting was Mike Salisburgs interview about advertising he says that he learned how to make a livelihood with ideas, styles come and go, but ideas always communicate. Another response from Salisburg i found intriguing was when they asked him about what would he like to attain in his career which to he responded with: " money, power, respect. lets not forget, this isn't a career for people aspiring to become the next Mother Teresa".
